    The full shot was taken with a Sony Alpha a68 in combination with a Tamron 90mm Macro Lens. The other two were taken with a Celestron InfiniView Digital Microscope.

    The colour difference may be down to the ring light on the InfiniView versus the natural light for the Sony shot.

    As always, shot within our garden/temple somewhere in the Philippines.

    The full shot was stacked in Fiji.

    Full shot camera data;

    Sony Alpha a68 ~ Tamron 90mm 272E Macro Lens ~ ISO 100 ~ Shutter Speed 1.6s ~ F/16 ~ Natural Light ~ 11 Shot Stack In Fiji

    The full shot is good , the others for me do nothing.

    Fair enough, they are very different shots with very different equipment. I agree with you in that I prefer the full shot. I'm exploring the potential of extreme macro, microscopy and the only way to explore is to start from the bottom and work my skill levels up.

    Brian, this is an interesting set of photos. Visually, the full shot is the most attractive of the three but I'm intrigued by the level of magnification (and focus) you managed to achieve in the third image.

    As with any tool it takes a while to sort out how to use it.

    I have lowered the resolution to 3 mp and gotten a little more precise in my focusing and light placement. At $129 U.S. the Celestron InfiniView is not exactly a world class instrument. But it is certainly capable of producing decent shots once the shooter builds up the needed skill sets.
