Pardon My Fringe
A bit of an experiment.

Re: Pardon My Fringe
I once read an article by a Pro photographer in a well respected magazine in which he lambasted negative (white) vignettes. Said they shouldn't be allowed and ruined pictures, etc, etc.
I think this works really well. It sets up the image to be almost high-key.

I like this. The misty white background and vignette focuses all the viewer's attention on the horse, while all the rest is ethereal.
Thanks for sharing.

Re: Pardon My Fringe
A lovely image. This is an example of when a white vignette works really well.

Re: Pardon My Fringe
agree with everyone but...perhaps a bit less opaque in the bottom corners?

Thanks all for the comments.
Donald, glad you liked it. There are no absolutes, especially in something like composition otherwise there would be "rules". I'm sure the photographer you quote is right some of the time. I have used it here to hide clutter and because the dark tones in the horse seemed to lend themselves to a high key approach.
Brian, I agree. In retrospect, a little less might have been a little more.

I love the simplistic, or minimalistic quality of the image. It looks like it could be the lead photo on an article about it or other horses. Or a christmas card the owner would send.
