    I completely agree! After all, it is practically a "mono" bird. This subtle treatment would not be the most recommended for a macaw or a toucan, but it looks very nice for an egret. Nice job, John!

    PS.: I also liked the composition, by the way.

    Great image, my only suggestion would be to remove the two ripples(?) to the left of the bird's neck that I think are a bit distracting. I think removing them would equalize the image with the rest of the bg. Just a thought

    Thanks all for the additional comments. Like the idea of removing the two ripples. Surprising, it does make a difference.
