Retrospective: one spot in the Adirondacks [image heavy]

For various reasons, we are in the process of selling the cabin in the central Adirondacks that we have owned for years. Trevor just posted a new image of an old barn that he had photographed a number of times before, and that led to a discussion about photographing the same spot numerous times. This led me to think that it would be fun to put in one spot a number of images I captured from that place over the years. All of these were taken either from our dock or from a spot on the lakefront perhaps 100 m away.

Once you find a site like this it is almost incumbent upon you as a photographer to explore the myriad possibilities. I am sorry you may lose this, seems to me that a lifetime is too short to do justice to it. And i think it makes you grow as an artist to hone your eye and craft by teaching yourself to look with fresh eyes at "old" things. Maybe even as a person, by slowing down to actually see the world around you

It's a shame that circumstances, whatever they are, lead you to the loss of such a beautiful and picturesque place. I've had the same experience and can tell you that the only way to shorten the grieving- is to find another, even more beautiful and restful spot than the first.

It's not fruits and veggies but I have a sense of the place and your attraction to it, it's a place I would be quite comfortable at
