Studio Close-Up: Heavenly Spheres or Volcanic Eruption

Studio Close-Up: Heavenly Spheres or Volcanic Eruption

In our shared reality this is a close-up shot of a Passion Fruit Vine blossom. In my somewhat unusual inner reality I’m looking at classical Greek Heavenly Spheres with the Earth at the center of everything. Or, equally vivid in my inner reality, this is a shot of a volcanic eruption.

Quite naturally, you are free to see whatever comes into your own inner reality or perhaps to see what is found within our shared reality. As always, shot in our garden/temple somewhere in the Philippines.

Works well. Good exposure and plenty of focus depth.

Or in mine, a pebble dropping into water and the reverberating splash-back being exemplified by the flower fonds(?). Obviously DoF is something you have controlled well, for such a close up. Stacked I presume?

Thanks Geoff, We added a room to the house with one corner being dedicated to shooting. I'm learning the distances needed and with no breeze stacking becomes an option.

I like your interpretation. What you call fonds I refer to as petals. Stacking indeed.
