Cooper, the successful hunter
"Cooper," the juvenile Cooper's hawk that hunts in our neighborhood, was sitting on a limb 10 feet from the bird feeder hanging from a window in our home this afternoon. I couldn't figure out why the cardinals and other feeder birds were busily feeding and seemed unconcerned. I got off 10 shots through the double-paned windows before Cooper took off. When I got the frames on the computer, it became clear why the feeder birds were unconcerned: Cooper was finishing a meal he made of one of their little buddies:

Good shot with nice separation of subject from the fore- and back-ground.
