It’s not just the military that uses shock and awe. So does our mother. Mind now, she uses it for attraction and to avoid violence where the military uses it to repel and as a part of violence.

You were probably right, Brian.

I just plugged my screen RGB values into Bruce Lindbloom's calculator and the dominant wavelength came out negative ...

... which means that the color on my screen is on the CIE "line of purples" i.e. it is not violet.

Ouch, as a wheel man and a pilot I learned to trust technology. But as a photographer.... if you see violet then technology be damned. It is violet.

a lot of responses indeed. I'll stick with if it looks like a duck, especially a good looking duck then I'm happy
