    Throwing the ball and chain

    I took this photo some time ago at the Waipu Highland Games. Settings were f4.5; ISO100; 1/2000sec; 48mms (72mms equiv). Might take out the fuzz on the left (his) side of his face. Although it is real it looks a bit peculiar.

    Great shot of a very powerful and intent guy!

    A nit picking comment!

    I wish that it might have been shot at a bit longer focal length or a wider aperture or both the separate him from the background more drastically.

    Another possible fix could have been shooting from a much lower angle so that his face might have been shown against the sky or trees.

    A lower angle might be a bit too revealing unless there was also some intentional blurring which could've also given a bit more dramatic flair. Nice shot Jim.
