    B & W infrared (3 images)

I had my old Canon 1Ds II camera sensor converted with a Deep B&W Infrared filter earlier this year. Here are three images shot at 1/160 sec, f/8.0 and ISO 400. This is my base exposure in bright daylight using my 24-70mm f/2.8 lens; this old lens still has the IR focusing marks. I am pleased with the white foliage and black skies this 830nm filter produces. These were processed in Lightroom.

Dead Tree and Vine. There was a clear blue sky behind this tree trunk which turned black. Strong sidelight produced good texture of the tree's wood and bark.

Wooden Stairs. Old wood looks good in IR along with the flowers in the foreground planter.

Pedestrian Bridge. Strong sidelight and shadows brought out the shape of this old, iron bridge. The background trees contrast nicely with the dark sky which had a thin veil of cirrus clouds.

    Comments and suggestions welcome

Classic IR at it's best. Excellent acutance. I have a similar dead tree shot somewhere which comes nowhere close in quality to that one ...

Nice set Paul. I like the structural contrast in the second one.
