    I don't know if these are male and female, different species or merely different maturity stages. I think they will turn into some variety of Hawk Moth.

    They seem rather similar to our Elephant Hawk Moth caterpillars. My guess would be different stages of the same species. Some caterpillars appear quite different between the first and last instars.

    your guesses are usually rather good. I've got a few more shots to process. One is a rather good macro of a leg showing spikes(?)

    Truth in advertising time. It was on of our helpers who first spotted these caterpillars. I then got my camera out but therre was just too much breeze. I cut off the leaves they were on and went into my studio. At that point they arranged themselves and i took lots of shots.
