Toby is a young cocker spaniel + poodle mix who lost his right rear leg after it was shattered when he was hit by a car. He was one of our rescues that we placed and his owner has trained him as a therapy dog. She and Toby visit Children's Hospital and also work with amputees in the Wounded Warrier Project...
Recently as he was visiting Children's Hospital, a young girl who had also lost her leg asked, "Does Toby cry at night because he lost his leg. His owner answered her, "He used to but now he is well adjusted. See how happy he is!" The little girl replied, I guess "I won't cry anymore either!"
I don't know how this impacts you but, we are so glad that we had an opportunity to save Toby...
