    Greetings from The Netherlands!

    Hello all,

I've just signed up and decided to drop in here to say hi. I'm Monique, online known as Yuukon. I've been a photographer for as long as I can remember, focusing mostly on nature, animal and macro photography. Occasionally, I like to stray into the worlds of documentary or portrait photography.

Wishing you all a Merry Christmas!

    M.

    Welcome Monique...
We have photographers from all over the world and photographers interested in just about every venue in photography. Besides our forums we have some really good tutorials.
We also have photographers who have used just about every brand and type of camera gear. I personally use Canon (Canon 7D Mark 2 and 6D Mark 2) as well as Sony (A6500). I have found that whenever I need to ask a question, there is someone in our group who can and will provide the answer. Never be shy about asking a question, answering someone's question or just giving feedback on an image that is posted.
Many of my images can be seen at: https://rpcrowe.smugmug.com/

    Hi Richard,
Thanks for the welcome! I'll definitely be doing some more nosing about here when the holidays are over and calm returns to my house. I've already shared one of my shots in the Nature section of the forum as well. I noticed there's photographers from all over the world here, and that's definitely great! I'll definitely be asking any questions I may have
    Happy Holidays!

Hi Monique and welcome from me too.

Been here longer than most and can confirm the comments about it being a great learning site, better than most on the internet for photography and a very friendly one at that. I now post much less frequently, but do give appropriate and constructive comments where applicable and would encourage you to post and comment as necessary.

Obviously it will be great to see some of your work when you get time.

    Enjoy CiC!!

Thanks Ian! I do prefer friendly sites. I have also been part of a Dutch forum for a while but they were a bit too well, "let's not edit stuff at all" for my taste. I like being creative in my work, and the people there could not appreciate it at all. I'm also very active on DeviantArt, have been there for fifteen years by now

I have already shared one of my photographs in the nature forum the other day, but I'll make sure to share some more. I look forward to hearing your thoughts!

    Monique,

We all have different styles and tastes and thats what makes life interesting!

One of our creatives, who I often find intrigues me is ‘Daisy Mae’ aka Sharon, who I find really makes photos and compositions which are challenging and thought provoking. This has even made me try this style from time to time as it is an interesting diversion from my traditional and everyday work subjects. Check some of those posting out.

Fernando Kaskais is another thought provoking and challenging photographer on here.

These are not the only ones and it depends on your tastes. Macro, landscapes, people etc and more. The mods are very helpful and add their knowledge into the discussion.

Site owner Sean has created the tutorials and these have grown, in the decade since the site went live. All in all an enjoyable discussion and learning forum that we all keep returning to and enjoy.

Never be afraid to ask for assistance or constructive crit.

Much better and often more technical than simple ‘likes’.

Howdy, Monique! I'm new here as well and still learning. Good to see you are enjoying the hobby and the board.
