Rock without roll

I take a shot when I know what I’m shooting and then again there are times I take a shot because I believe there is some hidden beauty the camera will see that I can’t. The latter reason was the driving force today.

I do believe there was a lot of hidden beauty in the rock I noticed.

As always, shot in our garden/temple somewhere in the Philippines.

I think this shot would work better as an abstract capture rather than with an explanation of what it is. I noticed I found myself wondering more about what this was before reading what you wrote with it, and it kept it more interesting and exciting.

I could certainly remove the explanation. Wouldn't it be a lie to represent this as an abstract.

It feels like an abstract more than anything else to me. "If it quacks like a duck..."
