#1 is the penultimate winter shot. Brrrrrrr! So cold
Nice series.
Thank you for looking and commenting Brian and John. And, yes, Brian, it was incredibly cold when I took the first shot. My fingers ached. Another photo took, a couple of weeks back, gave the tips of my fingers blisters and had them aching for a few days, yet the resulting photo just looks peaceful and gives no hint of how cold it was.
Catherine, I enjoyed all three images but particularly the second one with its interesting lines.
I'm curious about what plant/tree is the subject of the third photo.
Hi Bruce, I just posted a photo of the entire tree on an Ottawa tree ID page and am told that it is a Crabapple. Thanks for looking and commenting!

Yes, Bruce, you are correct. The crabapple photo was taken on Dec. 21 and the other three photos were taken on Dec. 24. Happy New Year!
Catherine, shortly after doing yesterday's post I saw an unrelated winter photo of crab apple fruit still on the tree in the middle of winter. They can make a very attractive photo, as you successfully did in yours.
