Hi Manfred - It is just a annoyance/nuisance to deal with it. As you point out, there is software to take care of the problem. Thanks for your support and replies!

The 15-85 is an improvement in image quality compared with the 17-85, but it still suffers from CA at the extremes: https://www.the-digital-picture.com/...ns-Review.aspx. It's particularly apparent when you have a sharp, high-contrast edge. Fortunately, it is usually not that hard to get rid of it in postprocessing.
Hi Dan - My goal was to try and free myself from lugging extra stuff along on outings and I thought this lens would be perfect. I'll still use it of course but am disappointed in its limitations. It adds another factor that I'll have to keep in mind when trying to capture images. <huge sigh> Thank you for the link and the reply! I appreciate it!

Week 13 and the end of the First Quarter!

This is an image I keep going back to so I decided to see if I could process it into what I had in mind. The male cardinal is certain that we are harboring his enemy in our home. We've tried to discourage him but we inadvertently left one of the window shades raised and the result was this challenge to his nemesis. Fortunately he hasn't hurt himself or his rival.

It was another very windy and gloomy day. The camera settings used are: ISO1250 - f/5.6 - 1/2000
I was trying to catch his flight without blur but I didn't realize I had the speed set this high until afterward.

Thank you Geoff. I was leaning against a tree in the front yard trying to steady the camera! Lots of weird looks from the people driving by! <chuckle>

It is a fairly small file size so if I print it, it will have to be a small photo. I sure hope this cardinal mates and that they reside in the bushes outside my window! Thanks for replying, John.
