This is a nice composition. The lines work well for me, but I wonder if a black and white version be an even stronger image.

It is a nice concept, but it doesn’t work for me. I think the biggest problem for me is that there is too much of the uninteresting black part, and not enough of the wooden paneling.

Nicely seen and taken Greg. I've enjoyed the geometric images you have been posting lately. I start looking for patterns every time I look at a building, but just have not really spent the time exploring the concept with my camera.

Thanks John and David. I did try a black and white version and it worked well enough on the masonry and the timber but left parts of the glass and metal as a smudge. I am quite happy with these colours.

Thanks David. I took several frames with different arrangements of the 3 components but I had the opposite reaction to you. Those with more of the timber slats felt flat. I find this composition has a pleasing tension to it.

    Re: Outside Art

Thanks Manfred. I took me a while to start seeing anything useful in buildings and really only started happening when I looked through the lens and started rotating the frame. Just the same, I have walked past this scene many times and not photographed it but last week, at a different time of day and different light, it just leaped out at me.

    Nicely seen and shot.

As to color, the blue does complement the brown (opposite hues) which could lose some impact in monochrome.
