    Canon EOS ERR05

    Hi All

    I am getting below error ERR05 on the canon eos 650d camera display.

    <<The built-in flash could not be raised. Turn the power switch off and then on again.>>

    But the does flash pop-up however it is not working. tried power off and on but no luck.

    If anyone faced this issues can you please help resolution for this please ?

    Your camera has a flash hot shoe fitting (where you could mount a speed light flash gun) look carefully at this fitting. At one side (from memory I thinks it’s the left when looking from the back of the camera) of it on the lower section there is a spring loaded pin which when you attach an external flash gets depressed to disable the built in flash.
    See if the pin is in the down position, if so try to release it manually using a small screwdriver/toothpick. Hopefully it will release just be gentle with it and do not attempt to lubricate it.

    I am reasonably certain that because the OP stated that the Pop Up Flash does pop up, but does not work, this is particular micro switch, (on the Hot Shoe) is not the problem.

    I agree. It looks like the flash is raised, but the camera can't see that. So the second switch mentioned is more likely the culprit.
