    Fausto

    Fausto

For those who don't speak the language.

"I've seen people get inside photographs. Busy people in their task of changing the world. People who sell the soul to the image devil. They dress themselves in the prime, or they strip themselves of the despressor, and enter by the photographs inside as if there were no tomorrow. They become important while living within the photographs, and there is no way to convince them that there is life outside the photographs. The photographs like people who live inside them, favor them with angles that do not exist in nature. The photographs amuse themselves immensely, at other times they are cruel as the devil."

Google did a better job than my dedicated translator but I'm still struggling with the overall meaning. None the less, I very much like the Image and it does have a Faustian feel to it.

Sorry but it does absolutely nothing for me. I wonder why it was taken or at least why was it submitted here ?

Nicely captured, I don't know where the photo was taken but would like to visit as the location has a street photographer's ideal setting, just watching people navigate up and down that walkway should lend itself to some interesting captures.

Wonderful photo, Fernando! I love the variation in the lines and the gradation in tones. And those curved leading lines all converging on the curves of the coat well placed in the frame. A very well captured moment indeed.

Further to my comments above, I think the main reason that it leaves me cold is the fact that it is the back of the person. I would much prefer to see the persons face

    Roy,

I've seen countless debates online about the aesthetics, ethics, morality of photographing someone from behind, the thing is its done all the time and for different reasons and a viewers aversion to this type of composition shouldn't curtail the activity but should at least bring about further dialogue. The linked article describes some photographers reasoning for the style.

If we saw the person's face this picture would have no impact whatsoever.

................... and little meaning either. It's the almost threatening image of an anonymous figure in a cloak that that gives it the mystery and the Faustian feel for me - but we're all different.

A strong "kaskaisian" picture. His pictures are very suggestive. I like them. A face is total irrelevant, would harm it even.

Agree with those that feel seeing a face would ruin the photo. It would be meaningless, whereas the faceless figure is mysterious and wonderful.
