    Early Morning Heceta Head Lighthouse, Oregon

    Only nice morning during my early Nov week in Oregon. 5AM rise and shine. But it was worth it. From just below Sea Lion Cave looking at Heceta Head Lighthouse. You could hear the sea lions on the beach.

    Since the light flashes every 10 seconds it was hard to figure out the time for exposure. Come to think of it I could have blocked the lens when the light came by. Oh well next time.

    Hi Dave,

    No, I think I like it with the 'dynamic' of the lighthouse light - the other lit area would have been there regardless.

    People are bound to ask for the EXIF, and I was nosey, here's what I found;
    Canon 7D at 28mm, 9 seconds, f4, iso 1600.

    Cheers,

    Really beautiful, Dave -- I love how you got the faint clouds and the stars. I wondered what it might be like without the lights on the right, but I think I like that too -- the lonely little community out by the lighthouse.

    Thanks for the comments, the lights on the right are the original light keepers house which is now a Bed and Breakfast so I wanted that in the picture.

    A+.

    My only question - Is the horizon level, or does it need a slight clockwise twist? Maybe it's my eyes (I've just woken up!).

    I like it; it has that something extra.
