    My Little Muskrat...

Actually, Deva is not a Muskrat at all, she is a Yorkshire Terrier + Maltese mix rescue dog that really needed grooming...

    My Little Muskrat...

After a quick grooming, she looks like a dog again and years younger...

This little gal was adopted before we even put her on our rescue website. We were doggie sitting a young DOG that we had previously adopted out and she and Deva began a solid friendship. Seeing this, when it was time to pick up the dog we were doggie sitting, Deva was adopted into the same family. She has a built-in friend in her new home and we are sure of the quality this adoption. A QUICK BUT, HAPPY ENDING

this animal looks like a beaver (enlarge the image you can see the beginning of it's flat tail), nice shot though. How far away were you to take this shot (if the beaver could sense your presents or saw movement he /she would have dove under water).

No definitely not a beaver; this is a muskrat. What you are seeing are the disturbances in the water from it swimming, not a flat beaver's tail. This shot was taken shortly before it got into the water.

They both are food in some parts of the world, dogs and muskrat.
Muskrat is eaten in Belgium and is called water rabbit.

DAmn, I missed that when I was in Belgium last September. I always try to find food I can get back home.
