The Sanctuary of Bom Jesus do Monte in Braga, Portugal

Yesterday, I commented that I went up five hundreds eighty steps for visiting the Sanctuary of Bom Jesus do Monte in Braga, Portugal (please see Palitana temples Bhavnagar district, Gujarat, India).
Today, I'm posting some photos of this beautiful Sanctuary (its name means Good Jesus of the Mount).
    Cheers,
    Antonio.

Beautiful pictures of a beautiful place.
I'm still trying to find out the transformation of a pacifist sect to a religious constitute that embrace weapons and war. No difference with Islamic jihadists now.

António, your images are just nice and beautiful.

I have never been in such a place ! Neither have I been to Fátima, another "holly" place.
I do not believe in these say, "religious stuff" to be mild.
But here in CiC, is about photography we talk about, not religious beliefs.
Perhaps you could correct your perspectives in some pictures... the interior of the church is just fine but the church itself from outside, you have to agree that...

Man, when you travel do you carry all that equipment with you ? How much that weight ?
The weight was the reason why I moved to m43. I have gained some weight mainly on the body(s) while the lenses may be quite heavy if high end. Anyway it is better now that before.

Re: The Sanctuary of Bom Jesus do Monte in Braga, Portugal

    Antonio,
I'm not very religious, but this sanctuary is a beautiful place that brings me peace of mind and exercises my legs (and my heart and lungs).
Regarding the church's perspective, I agree with you and I will correct that (your comments are always welcome).
I really enjoyed your question about my photographic equipment. I do not like to carry heavy equipment, especially if I'm travelling by plane. It was my first trip to Portugal (I did not know which kind of photographic subjects I would find) and as such I decided to carry only my most versatile compact equipment: a Canon SX50 superzoom camera.
    This relatively small (4.82 x 3.44 x 4.15 in; 122.5 x 87.3 x 105.5 mm) and light (21 oz; 595 g) camera has a 50x zoom lens (focal lenght = 4.3 - 215 mm; 35 mm equivalent lenght = 24 - 1200 mm) and allows me to shoot RAW images. Its sensor is very small (1/2.3" = 6.17 x 4.55mm; 12.1 megapixels), but takes reasonable photos until ISO 1600 (for example: the two pictures inside the church).
I have not yet decided yet which camera I will carry on my next trip (the Canon SX50 or the Nikon D5300 + a Nikkor 18 - 300 mm lens).
    Cheers,
    Antonio.

Curious António, how you have two equipments from two competitor brands: Canon and Nikon.
The thought Oly is just a funny camera which you probably use to dive in the warm waters of the Atlantic Ocean... should have it on your next trip !

But, what am I talking about ?
After all, here at home there are also two brands of cameras: Olympus and Sony. The later, my wife bought a week ago. But this is not what your thread is about...

I do not know what software you use António but the correction is good on the first, while on the second...

I'm a Canon shooter and a Nikon shooter (the two cameras complements each other). I think Canon compact cameras are better than Nikon P&S and Nikon DSLR cameras offers better image quality than Canon DSLR (and maybe Sony is going to be better than both).

My Olympus TG-4 is the camera that goes where it would be dangerous for other cameras, but it's photographic features (zoom, image quality, focus adjustment) are worse than the others. Please see Olympus TG-4, a compact camera that has a system

I'm using the DxO ViewPoint 2 as a plug-in of the Photoshop Elements 11. I'm sure that the problem was caused by me (I changed the photo and overcorrected the perspective), not by the software.

    Antonio.

Thank you Antonio for your words and link !

I am going to try DXO as I photograph quite often with wide-angle lens in spite of the correction offered by LR and CC ! Thanks for the clue !
