    Busy Day

Today was a busy day. I played my first tennis match since I got my USTA 4.5 rating. Won in three sets. My son is visiting for a week and we are showing him around. We took a drive through the Bighorns. The highlight was the Museum of Flight and Aerial Firefighting in Greybull, Whoming. There are a few old airplanes that can be viewed through a chain link fence but unfortunately the large aircraft boneyard can not be accessed. Still a good time. I do not know what these planes are with the exception of the Lockheed Electra in the first photo.

The place was closed. The best I could do was shooting through a chain link fence.

Judith, be aware that the place is never open. All photos were taken through a chain link fence. One cannot get anywhere near the airplane graveyard. Still, come to Wyoming. The Bighorns are spectacular. Lots to see.

I think that the aircraft with the twin boom tail is one of the variants of the C-119 Globemaster, probably the C-119G and quite possibly this one: https://www.airteamimages.com/fairch...ce_162718.html

It was called a "Flying Boxcar". The Globemaster was a Douglas heavy transport airplane.

Unfortunate about the chain link but you did well to accommodate the restriction.

I am pretty sure I would have driven past that place when we did a holiday in Yellowstone/Tetons about 10 years ago.

Would this ring any bells ? Busy Day

Peter, that is the place. Greybull is about three hours from the east gate of Yellowstone. There's not a lot going on there.
