    Elephants and scorched earth

We first stopped to look at the interesting patterns of the white ash on the black ground and thought it made an interesting subject. Then these two fellows came out of nowhere.

Great. Love the spread of colours and that the elephants are coming at you. Not to mention both still have tusks.
Not sure about locking it into a frame.

Well done. Should go into a coffee table photobook.

Very unfortunate to have a perfectly good image of tone and textures ruined by thoughtless passersby. You did make the best of a bad situation and utilized the new elements well.

Thanks for feedback. Bobo, an interesting comment about the frame I will look at it without. Some images work and some don't. Thanks Trevor, we did try to find the source of the fire and it did appear to be started near a stop and stretch area.

I agree with getting rid of the frame. On a more serious note perhaps cloning the elephants - how inconsiderate.

Yes, nice photograph Clive. You just framed the opportunity ! Well done !

    It reminded me two things:
Poaching and FineArt Photograph at global scale

Have a look at the work of Nick Brandt (the last link)

Thank you everyone. Antonio thank you for the links. Unfortunately Botswana is debating lifting the hunting ban within the country, this is mainly due to human agricultural conflict and elephants - not good news. Nick Brandt's early work has always inspired me, not too sure about his later work. It gets the message across but not for me.

The big one in front almost jumps out of the frame. Great capture.
