Gnarly Tree, Looked at but not seen

These trees are near the Sky train (public transit) station in Vancouver. This is the second time I have shot some images to while away the time while waiting for the rest of my family to get organized for the day.
What surprises me is having people stop to see what I am doing, then say they walk by these trees twice a day for years and never really see the interesting aspects until their attention is focused by my activity. I suppose it is not really all that surprising, these things become background. I wonder how many people I have made actually "look" given the rarity of people stopping to interact with strangers doing weird things
