I do like that one. It's got real 'pop' to it. The way the huts and the roadway curve round to the buildings that then form a lovely line up the hill, is good. They, in turn, form two sides of the triangle that is shape of the land above the huts. I think they all form a set of bold and powerful shapes making this an excellent composition. I like it.
I would have been tempted to put some work into cloning out that hut going out of the frame on the left-hand side.
Thanks Donald, the thought about the hut occurred to me, I tried cropping it out but you lose the convergence of the leading lines so decided not too, I might give cloning a try but it doesn't look like the easiest cloning task ever.
Glad to report that we've not had snow for a few days now and managed to get out the house on Thursday, though that meant I had to go to work
Not much in Southern Ontario yet, but a storm was brewing today.

Wow, Wendy! This is just gorgeous! I think that New England is the only place that hasn't had snow, yet. (In the Northern Hemisphere, that is.) Unfortunately, we've had a couple of dustings at moments when I just couldn't do anything about it. A fresh dusting of snow is turning out to be trickier to catch than the Autumn leaves with the right weather. :(
Thank you so much Katy. Don't wory you will get your snow, in fact be careful what you wish for. :D I'm looking forward to seeing your snow shots. You always come up with something very unique and lovely to look at.

We are getting some light snow now,but nothing much. Here's a shot from last winter.

Here is a Shot from our first snow storm a month ago. Any comments would be welcome.
The original was too dark so this is developed lighter in UFRaw.

I've got a weatherstation inside my outhouse which is very drafty; yesterday it said -3.7 at midday and today right now at 10am it says
-6.0.
According to the receptionist at the local surgery it was -10 yesterday, so it must be pritty cold out there.

It's not fair...you guys get this perfect environment to make photos and us southern folk get sand and a little water...just doesn't seem right...then again, I can get warm with a sweater....nevermind. :D
OH! I just saw this! Thanks, Wendy..... although, it's the 20th and only a dusting, so far.... sigh! I'm enjoying everyone's snow pics, instead.
Jim B., you're, like, one of my heroes! ;) Clactonian, you're definitely making me want to take a high key shot. The ideas are beginning to percolate! Now, if only it would snow....
