    Covered Bridge

This bridge in Guelph Ontario crosses the Speed River. The well-known Lattice Covered Bridge is a wooden covered bridge located at the start of the Eramosa River Trail near the Guelph Lawn Bowling Club in central Guelph, and serves as a pedestrian and cyclist crossing for the Speed River.

A much better composition was possible had I the courage to walk on the ice or get a higher elevation to get a better pov. I could also have tried moving to the left or right. Instead I just sat in the car and shot this.

    Too harsh.

A 'different' composition would have been possible. There's a nice linear geometry to this Composition.

Thanks Bill. There are ramps on both sides to allow the cyclists a smooth ride. Appreciate your comments . I chose this composition ñot only for the convenience of staying in the car, but also because of the symmetry.

They are not that common in Ontario.

Next time you are in that general area you should look at heading out to West Montrose. I believe it is the last functioning covered bridge in Ontario and it does take car traffic. There are quite a few in Quebec that are still in use.

Back in the film days, I had numerous shots of covered bridges in Central Oregon. However, I have never seen one for foot and bike traffic only... I do like the composition...

Thanks Manfred. That looks very impressive and only about 1 hour from Stoney Creek. Will have to visit this Summer.

I really like the fact that you take a photo during winter. The surroundings compliment the establishment.
