A Bluer Blue Sky

I am uncertain if the sky is passably more blue in the attached image or a blue-black & cyan mess. In Camera Raw: Basic... Clarity +14, Vibrance +60, Saturation -12; HSL Adjustment... Luminance -12, Saturation +12; Minor adjustment in Tone Curve. Advice appreciated

Its not bad but the hue transition seems to be askew.

Yes, even though I am using ProPhoto & 16-bit in Photoshop, it is banding or near banding. Perhaps the cure has killed the patient.

I was getting unnatural deep blue skies and the problem was underexposure. I was given some very helpful tips by members here.

Ed it certainly looks too blue to me, especially the deeper blue areas. I can see some banding in these areas. I suspect a Vibrance setting of +60 might be the culprit. It seems very high.

Ed, I downloaded the image and looked in RawTherapee. There's no red in the blue part of the sky at all. In terms of the HSB color space, that is well over-saturated (no red = 100% saturated) so certainly something got cranked during post-processing.

Truly! Plus, I have discovered, I can use Adobe Landscape in Raw to begin and then a smaller amount of Vibrance and Levels > Blue Chanel > reset white point slider to good effect...
