Thread: Road Hog

    Road Hog

This was inspired By Geoff's shot of the ship at Amsterdam.

This one is of a ship in a canal at Niagara-on-the-Lake, Ontario, as it crosses a road

I'm surprised I can inspire people

For me a normal situation. Waiting in my car for the boats passing. It's a good subject for a timelaps.

    The location looks quite familiar...

    Road Hog

I suspect we were shooting the same location although we were on opposite sides of the canal. It looks like the ship in this shot was almost at the end of its career; she was scrapped about a year ago.

Thanks Zen and Richard for you kind words.
Hi Manfred. I suspect you are right. The prow of the ship with the anchor points make it look more like a pillbox than a ship. Certainly a thing of practical rather than aesthetic value! Well caught, as it towers over the lock gate building.
