He has had a hard life
Pelu is an eight year old mixed breed dog who has had a hard-hard life. From what we have learned, this poor guy was kept out in a yard without any shelter in all types of weather. He was in terrible shape when we received him, filthy and covered with his coat terribly matted...
He is very hard of hearing, blind in one eye with cataracts in the other...
Yet, despite his hard life, he is extremely gentle and loving. He really seems grateful for any attention we give him. I am sure that he has never eaten as well any time in his life.
Our Veterinary Eye Doctor states that Pelu doesn't need surgery on his blind eye and we are getting him a workup to see if he will be a candidate for cataract surgery. That way, at least he will have decent vision in one eye.
There is a home out there for every dog and we will ensure that Pelu finds a furever loving home. He is welcome to live with us for as long as it takes to find that home. At least the rest of his life will be in better circumstances. He deserves that!

Re: He has had a hard life
Thank you again, Richard for an uplifting story for a dog.
The great thing is you and your friends/helpers/organisation are doing superb and much needed work.
The sad thing is that such work is needed.
It is beyond me how anyone can harm or neglect an animal in their care.

Update on pelu!
Judy and I were discussing this little guy at supper tonight and how hard it is to get a dog adopted who has multiple special needs (Pelu's eyesight and hearing) and we decided that our home would be the best place for him to live out his days in loving comfort. We have decided to adopt Pelu
