It's Important to Take Care of Punctuation

Certainly according to one interpretation of this business sign.

It's Important to Take Care of Punctuation

I have always been a supporter of using correct grammar and punctuation, but I had never realized the health benefits of doing so!

Curiously I haven't seen any institutions supporting semi-colons, commas, exclamation or question marks...

Hi Manfred - I admire your penetrating insight!

Sometimes it's spelling that's the issue: be it consonants or bowels...

I hope they do a better job with their colonoscopies than they do with their punctuation.

The period has taken the lion's share of attention.

Did you capture the shot while moving past or, before shooting, did you come to a full-stop?

Excellent. I have the original book. In there, it says "shoots" but that makes little difference ...

The quote I had was actually from the magazine "the NZ Woman's Weekly", which (I think) parodied the book about which you are totally correct. Ironically the magazine itself was referred to in the book "Half-Gallon, Quarter-Acre, Pavlova Paradise" as sex, the NZ woman's weekly!

Before I retired from our city's tertiary care genl hospital, I knew a physician there who chose this specialty as his career. When I asked him one day why that particular branch of medicine, he said "Because business was always looking up!"

    Ka-dunk!!!

The book, by Lynne Truss, is actually called "Eats, Shoots & Leaves" with a sub-title of "The Zero Tolerance Approach to Punctuation". The quote above gives the corrected version.
