Nice summer scene. I would consider cropping off about half of the foregrounds water.

I would suggest the light is not doing you any favours here. The side of the house is in shadow and lacks form as a result. Try taking the same picture in early morning or evening where the light should bring out more redness in the house itself.
ps. I would lose the half-duck or goose on the left !

I was thinking about cropping a bit more from the left. Maybe lose around 10% and a balancing amount from the bottom?

I suggest a more severe crop from the left- to about the 2d tree behind the house, and an appropriate amt from the bottom. Perhaps around the line where the smooth water ends and ripples begin.

Here is an edited version of the house/lake.
Peter, I agree with you about the light. I plan to retake this photo during the "Golden Hour" within the near future.
