Which alternative for Nik Collection app ?

I am on the 30 days period of Nik Collection and found it to be rather old in terms of interface...
I do not like those round adjustments so hard to see and not versatile at all.
Any alternative ? I would like to work as a plug in not a separate program...
    Thank you !

If what you mean by round adjustments is the "control point" technology, that is one of the main reasons for using Nik. I am not aware of any other software that works in a similar way. Many of the adjustments Nik does can be done, or at least approximated, by other software, but Nik sometimes makes some of them (e.g., B&W film emulation) easier.

Yes Dan. And Nik comes in a pack with a good price.
Thank you for your opinion, Dan.
I have been Googling a bit and did not find any alternative.
    Cheers !

That link takes you to a web page with a download button for the NIK site, but there is also a link to the DxO site which makes it appear genuine. However, that link takes you to the DxO home page which in turn has information on the current NIK suite which is not available free and there is not any information I can see that refers to availability of the "old" NIK or any other free download (other than a 30-day free trial). The nearest it gets to good news is that your can buy the NIK suite at a reduced price and without having to fork out for DxO Photolab.

It may be genuine but I'd be very cautious - as the old saying goes, "if it seems too good to be true, it probably is". According to the DxO site the current version available is 2018 v1.1 and there is no mention of the 1.2.15 version mentioned in the link.

The Nik software are basic plugins. The old, free, ones had a very simple window shell around them, individual and not the same. So if your problem was the interface you won't gain anything.

    Good morning !
As usual you are terrific guys ! I mean good and gentle people. (I am a bit afraid of the meaning "terrific", but I mean good guys).
I am in the 30 days trial of Nik Col. I have had it before under subscription and before it went free.
    Now, I want it back.
This time when time comes I am going to pay for the current available version !
I have Adobe Cloud legal, why shouldn't I have also Nik ?

    Cheers !

    Great detective work Dave!!!

Do you know if there are any functional differences between the free and the current DxO version (in other words what do you get from the paid for that you don't get from the free one?).

It is my understanding that the new paid version is 64bit compatible which is not the case with all of the original free program options.

Antonio - I'm a long time Nik user. I bought the full package from Nik, kept it up when Google bought out Nik and continued to support the product when DxO took over the product.

To date, there have been no upgrades in functionality to the product. All of the work that DxO has done to it was to fix bugs and to ensure compatibility with the Adobe CC products.

I use Color Efex a lot and don't use the rest of the products very much or at all, so can't comment on them.
