    Red Winged Blackbird

Bird was perfectly willing to sit still for me, only about 5 feet away and then a group of noisy tourists came up behind me, saw what I was doing and still loudly stated "ooh look a bird" and started right towards the bird.

    Red Winged Blackbird

    1/30sec, ISO400, f/9

Only time for one good shot before it flew away.

Lovely bird; do you know its name? From where you captured this? Is there enough pixels to crop out the bird leaving the foreground trunk of tree?

    Very nice.
I am looking forward to trying my hand at catching some of the birds in our new home.
It is a no cats outside and native plants only community.
    The native birds love it.

John - you were lucky to have one of these birds pose for you. Red Winged Blackbirds are normally very skittish and hard to photograph because they don't stay in one spot for very long.

Too bad you did not have a clear shot of it. The material in front of the bird is definitely distracting.

And the material made auto focusing a chore as well, thanks for commenting.
