Just Superb!!! yet i feel if there were only that leading girl alone in the frame as human along with the horses, the story would have been stronger.....
Beautiful light and a lovely image. I would be tempted to clone out the man behind the rider and possibly the sticks too.
Sure, removing that stick is a wise suggestion
Noted but the stick is the symbol of the guardian (the people that look after the Camargue horses, you just can't have a photo of a Camargue horse without the stick, the French reserve the guillotine for stuff like that) :-)
Oh crap !! You know I didn't even see the man behind the leading rider, yeah he's got to go :-)
[QUOTE=bambleweeney;734459] it was late when I processed this ... and I may have been drunk I think. [QUOTE]
i know that feeling !
Absolute cracker of an image.
Thank you very much Peter :-)
Very nice!! Her expression is just wonderful, and draws one into the overall feeling, putting us right on that horse with her.
Well done.
Wunderfull.
And now collecting the bulls.
George
Just one other very small point. Quite literally, a very small spot in the sky near the top about middle. Possibly a distant bird or a tiny bit of sensor dust. Otherwise a perfect shot.
We are told that photography is all about the light and this image demonstrates why this is so very clearly. The lighting is wonderful as it everything has that wonderful glow on the horses and the sky and the water.
Secondly, the capture of the movement is excellent as well; the water splashing and the flowing manes of the horses all build on the strength of the image. Separating the first rider from the following horses is also an important feature of how this image was put together.
Finally, the technical choices made in terms of shutter speed and aperture give us a good clean view throughout the whole image. Being able to stand in the ocean (and feed the mosquitoes) gave you a great shooting position as well. Removing the man in post strengthened this image.
An excellent image!
I think this is a really excellent image.
I see no reason to get rid of the sticks. The man, yes.
I suggest two minor edits. First, I would brighten the midtones a bit to highlight the faces more, particularly given the great expression. Second, I would tighten the crop a bit.
Here's a very quick-and-dirty edit in those directions:
Nicely exposed.
