    Standard Lens Challenge

Do you remember the good old days when you bought an SLR and it came with a 50mm 'standard' lens, and until you could afford a zoom (or in my case, they were invented) you had to move your feet?

Let's see what you can come up with using a 'standard' lens on your DSLR. So ...

    25mm (approx) on a Four Thirds camera (eg;Panasonic G1)
    35mm (approx) on an APS-C sensor camera - Canon 450D, 40D Nikon D90, D200 etc
    50mm on a full-frame sensor camera - Nikon D3, Canon 5D etc.

If you haven't got a prime then set your zoom to the correct focal length.
No cropping. NO CHEATING!! Post processing is allowed.

Closing date is December 20th 2010

I haven't got 35mm prime; I've got 28mm and 50mm but not 35mm. This is 35mm although proving it will involve another picture that has intact exif, of exactly the same.

Here is one from my PAD challenge... 50mm 1.4 lens
I have the 50 1.4 and 85mm 1.8 for low light action sports.
But they work just fine on 'still life'

and this is one of my basketball shots - this focal length on the crop body is perfect for courtside shots, usually I sit behind under the basket, but this was obviously mid-court....you get that bit extra in the frame, then if using a whopping great zoom

    Tip:

If you have Photoshop Bridge you can find your recent 35/50mm shots by doing a find (CTRL/F) from your main photo directory or sub-directory. Specify 'focal length' in the criteria, with an 'equal 50' for full-frame camera, or 'equal 35' for APS-C cameras.. Even if they were shot with a zoom, if the lens was set at 35/50mm they will be listed.

Really good stuff again coming from this idea.

Tried for one yesterday, but the result didn't match up to the picture in my head. So, will keep trying.

Can I use my 50mm on my 500D? Or are you being strict about the criteria? I just like my 50mm, that's all.

Hi Raylee - I see what you mean - mine are all with the 50mm lens, but on a crop frame body...so that makes them not really 50mm
