Dan those are nice images indeed and I particularly appreciate the choice of monochrome for the third photo to remove distracting colours and let us concentrate on the patterns and textures.

Three images that up to your usual high standards Dan.
I find the differences in the colour temperatures you used in the first and second shot quite interesting. Is there any particular reason you went this way for what is essentially much the same subject? In general, I prefer the colours of the second one to the first with the possible exception of the more orange cast in the opening where the flag is flying.

Re: Three views of the Boston waterfront in the evening
Thanks all.
Manfred: good question. I didn't try to match the colors. The light was very different in the two shots because the first second was taken much earlier. Check the glass face of the skyscrapers above the arch, and you will see that. The difference between the colors in the archway is more than just temperature; it's a difference in red saturation. I hadn't noticed how far off that is and should correct it even if I don't do anything more to match the colors.

Re: Three views of the Boston waterfront in the evening
I like the geometric composition of the 3rd image although a contrast boost might make it pop.
I like the complementary colours of the 2nd image but I wonder about your intention with the framing. The lower edge seems like an odd place to crop.

Re: Three views of the Boston waterfront in the evening
Greg,
Re contrast: good point. I increased it a bit after reading your note.
Re the odd crop: You noticed what I consider the fatal flaw. I wish it were a crop. It was a careless mistake in framing, so it can't be fixed. For that reason, I haven't put it in my small public gallery of urban night photographs.
