Tulip Festival - Ready to Open

We've had a very cool spring, so many of the tulips we saw wandering through the tulip beds were not out yet. In keeping with my thought of looking at the flowers a bit differently than usual, I spent a bit of time photographing some of the beds where the flowers were just at the very of opening up. In fact there were a few that had opened. Here the colours are predominantly green, but there is sometimes a hint of the colour that the flowers will be when then do open up.

I like these Manfred, but not as much as the colourful one.

But this certainly shows well the old adage of "fill the frame"

Somehow i liked these more than the flowers...less cluttered, each bud can breath now...
