Manfred has already dealt with exactly my first thoughts. That makes an excellent scene.
I agree regarding the foreground but I like the red sky.

Effective modification by Manfred
I like it. Agree with the dodging, but I like the red sky too.
I much prefer the original. To me it is a better depiction of the early morning mist rolling down before the valley floor has caught the sun. No doubt the sun will soon burn away the mist.
A striking image. While I agree with Manfred that the foreground is a bit dark, I don't like the edit, which looks washed out and lacks the contrast that is IMHO essential for the original. I wouldn't make the sky less red.
I think you could lighten the foreground very slightly without damaging the visual pop. As a quick example, just dropping the white point with a levels tool has that effect. this blows a bit of the sky, but with more careful editing, you could avoid that.
The original image is spot on. It is about the mist and the colours of the sky - as the title indicates. The sky is the brightest part of the image because that is the subject of the image and presumably Jeff's reason for shooting the scene. By brightening the foreground Manfred's edit has shifted attention from the sky to the grazing sheep in the foreground which makes it a completely different image. I don't really know why such a bland treatment would seem appropriate.
With a comment like that, I suspect that our screens and work spaces are set up differently, so we are looking at a somewhat different image. On my screen the original looks bland and too dark. That's why I suggested the edit that I did.
As an aside, my screen is set to 90 cd/ sq m and my workspace is set at 40 lux.
I like the edit but I would keep the red sky.
Beautiful landscape sir. Agree with the foreground comments mostly as it’s about the sky and mist. I prefer the color of your sky very nice work.
Thanks, it was all about the mist ...
I like this edit it doesn't destroy the mood. Helpful, thanks.
