Either too Close or Too Far

I'm either a bird whisperer or they just like my cologne. I was at a local nature preserve and some of the birds were coming as close as 2 feet away from me, unfortunately I was testing a rental lens (300mm f/2.8) and focusing wouldn't work.

Either too Close or Too Far

The eagle was the farthest away and I couldn't position myself at a different angle.

    f/5.6, 1/1250sec, ISO 200

I agree with Nandakumar, the first is the strongest image. It does need some serious PP work to tone down some of the distracting elements.

The bright background overpowers the bird in the second one and the third shot is not particularly interesting (location and the way the bird is sitting with its back to the camera).
