Not far above the Clyde Dam

I have been trying to give this image justice but was foxed for a long time until I recently viewed a video tutorial on YouTube by Hubert, Hvdb Photography. He shows amongst other things in this video about using the Yellow and Red Curves to get a good result in a similar image. What do you think?

Nice peaceful scene. The term "painterly" springs to mind. Do you want to share the curve settings or show us the original?

Sorry Jim, this is not working particularly well for me. The whole image seems to have a rather nasty yellow (and red?) colour cast

Its a lovely scene but this image is lacking for me. It needs more "pop". Perhaps increasing contrast in the foreground and reducing in the background ?

    +1

Are those realistic colors? White balance issue?

It does look better in the Lightbox view, but I agree that this scene does appear to be fractionally on the red side.

I'm not sure if/to what extent there is a red cast in this. My first impression was that the colours looked very similar to those of the dead vegetation in much of highland Scotland in winter.

Perhaps Jim could let let us know how well the colour in the image matches that in the scene?

My issue is not with the vegetation, as I agree that we can definitely see those colours, especially at certain times of the day. The clouds and water colour are the ones that strike me as being off. If I were to work this image, I'd probably head in this direction:

Nice effort, nice rich colors in the foreground which contrast well with the hazy sky. For me only the water lacks interesting appeal as it is quite flat.

I liked the original asellas Manfred's edit; yet i am eager to know which was the original nature of the scene...
