    The Penguin

I'm looking at doing another War on Gotham themed cosplay shoot in a few weeks, so I thought I would revisit some of my files from a couple of years ago to investigate looks and lighting.

Here is a hour or so of editing work on the Penguin character.

Nicely done, where are you going to get the cosplayers for the theme? I know a few troupes in my area but they usually only play heroes.

Fortunately we have people that like playing villains and heroes, so a good mix to work with.

We are fortunate that the Ottawa Valley was once a major hub for woolen and lumber mills that took advantage of the water power from the various rivers flowing through these parts. These have been abandoned for a few decades and are starting to be renovated into living space. We found one such former woolen mill some 40 miles out of town. The owners are letting us do a shoot there before they start doing renovations in the fall.

If things work out to plan, I should have some more interesting images for July.

Nice work. Love the lighting, it's perfect for the subject. However, YIKES he's scary.

What seemed strange to me from the first is the apparently awkward (to me at least) that his hat is sitting on his head. It seems to be skewed to the right (camera left) side of his head...

John this was a cosplay event held at a local print shop. The background (although it can't be made out is a small Heidelberg printing press) and storage racks on the wall.

This gives a better view of the environment:

Yes, I've posted her solo before too. This shot got me the "Best in Show" at the last club competition of this year.
