Some kind of skipper
I expect some of you will recognize it and tell me what it is. I believe the flower is a Wild Sweet Pea; again please correct me if I am wrong.
I put the 1.4 teleconverter on the 300 mm yesterday but had no luck with the bird hunt, so I turned to the wildflowers in the yard instead. I wish I had set up a reflector, as I ended up with some high ISO images and the need for some noise reduction. The wind was blowing and I was shooting handheld, so I couldn't afford to let my shutter speeds get too low.
f/10 @ 1/250, 900 ISO
Edit: I am advised that the subject is a skipper, so I have revised the the title accordingly. Until tonight, I thought a skipper was the captain of a boat. Now I know they are also butterfly-like creatures with hooked antennae.

Well done, Janis, I like very much. One very small thought - I would crop a little bit off the bottom, which would have the added advantage of getting rid of the semi-circle of which surrounds the bottom of the stem on both sides and ends in the middle.

Re: Some kind of skipper
Thanks Jim, Nandakumar and John.
Jim, here is a crop with the square aspect preserved:
I will need to sit with it a while, but I think it may work for me.

Had not really cottoned on to the fact that you are using a square format, Janis. Nevertheless, I really like the result. However, more important is how you like it (and just, maybe, others).

Nice capture and I like your final crop. Can't help with identifying the moth though. There are just too many of them.

Re: Some kind of skipper
Thanks, Jim. Your suggestion is still pleasing me, so I think it was the right choice in the end.
Thanks, John. No worries about the ID. My entomologist friend couldn't tell me either.
