On a other forum I was notigied on this upgrade on the 5D mkII and 7D.
To my opinion it's a very useful upgrade. only it;'s a pity you have to pay for it because I think it should be there anyhow.
It happens to me frequently that suddenly the mode dial is moved to another position.

Even with the 1Ds3, accidental "changes" are still an issue. Thankfully I can lock out the QCD, but I've been know to also bump the index wheel
