    Lapwings

Always wanted to capture these in flight. So difficult because they are so skitttish in the air. Couldn't follow them with a really long lens and as a result had to resort to a 55-200mm zoom. Consequently, the quality of the BIF shots could be better. I think the BIF pair must be youngsters because the head plume hadn't developed on either bird at the time the shots were taken. Apparently, the length of the plume is an indication of maturity.

Well done. Best that I have ever managed with 600 mm is a small fuzzy dot!

Thanks all for the comments. Geoff, with a 600mm (Fuji 100-400 + 1.4) I just couldn't hold them in the frame so these BIF shots are heavily cropped.
