My style will not appeal to everyone when it tends toward abstract minimalism. With this shot I was interested in the layering and juxtaposition of color. And the sense of aging and rebirth. Honestly I don't get very philosophical about it. I just liked the colors and the textures.

Thanks for looking and commenting. It is nice to know someone is always seeing my posts!

I find many of your images show a different awareness of the surroundings compared to the average passer by. It is something many photographers try to do and it can be difficult to communicate what it was that caught one's eye. I think the title "Track Changes" helped as I associated the image with the functionality of the same name in Microsoft Word where you can see the original document marked up for the changes you have made. The partially visible layers of paint were the equivalent of this and showed the latest paint colour that has replaced various earlier iterations. Less importantly for me, the parallel lines resonated with "tracks". In this way I felt I could gain an understanding or interpretation of the image that way. Whether that is what you intended the viewer to see and indeed whether it is an attractive or aesthetically pleasing image is another, possibly irrelevant matter as photographs don't have to be "nice".

BTW I think a bit of philosophy is good for the mind and our well being, as Wavelength's "Mindscapes" regularly demonstrate.

Thanks for your comments. I am glad to know my photo connected with someone in the way I had hoped. Track Changes was, indeed, a reference to the review function of MSWord--which has a fair amount of philosophy connected if one wants to go there. I do go there in my head but rarely find folks that connect with that thinking.

WK 29 - A great example of contrasting shape, colour and texture all in one image.

Wk 30 - I immediately thought of "Flying Barbs" as a title for this.

Not an easy subject to include in a composition, but the offset composition and the DOF both work for me. Overall the image is not as strong as some others of yours (IMHO), but well worth taking.

    Hi Judith:

This is an interesting image for me on a couple of levels. Visually, it has complexity and the stark, sharp outlines contrast with many of the other images that you have taken. On another level it is relevant to the current discourse on population grown, migration and isolationism. I could see this in an article on the subject of immigration for example.
