    Carbonite finally completed backup

I began backing up 708GB of saved image files on May 11th. The slow backup caused both mine and my wife's computers to really bog down

Her backup was completed ages ago (her files are smaller since she has only some word documents and JPEG images. Somewhere around the First of June, I decided to curtail backing up my files between 0700 and 2300 because that was the time frame most of our other computer work was accomplished.

So by backing up only eight hours 2300 to 0700 each day, the backup progressed slowly but, did not cause us any problems with our normal computer work

Despite the slowness of Carbonite, I do like it because I have once recovered files from a frozen hard drive using Carbonite and it worked easily and well...

Programs such as this are typically a nuisance only when doing the initial backup. In most cases, the incremental backups as you work are small and therefore not so time-consuming. I have been using services like this for years (currently BackBlaze), and I never notice them working.
