Burma 2018
When I travel I never tag the photos and I am so lazy that I hardly remember all the places we have been to. Shame on me.
However, in my next travel I think I will be able to geotag all photographs using the phone and the camera. Then I will be (will I ?) be able to make a route of the way and tag photos all along.
In this tread I will try to post one or more photos everyday. Will I be able to do so ?
Let me try. Thank you for viewing and commenting if you wish, as usual.

Re: Burma 2018
I notice a lot of photographers feel the need to tag their trips, for me its as easy as creating a folder afterward naming the month/year/location. Nice series.

Re: Burma 2018
I do classify my pictures by time+location, but I often want a bit more than just the coarse location,
so I use a phone or tablet to get a GPS trace. Not really relevant for well-known touristic attractions,
but it's not always easy to remember afterwards where (and in what direction) you took a picture, and
that info can come in handy on several occasions. E.g. looking up the history of a building,
or figuring out which plant species occupy the same area.
Several programs are capable of correlating photo time and GPS location from a trace. To make that
easier, I take a picture of the GPS screen at the end of a trace, which gives me the exact difference
between the clocks in the camera and in the GPS.

Re: Burma 2018
Thank you Remco and David for replying. Thank you also to John.
We are - I mean we were - for 2020 planning for 2020, the 10th travel to India when suddenly my wife found we were travelling to a dangerous place: Pokharan. We have to go somewhere else. No thanks !
Anyway, here is a link to Chinky Shukla images, which you may have some interest to see.
Let's move on to more photographs from Burma.
Oh ! I almost forgot. Now I do have an app that geo tags the shots made in camera if I have my phone with me. From now on, I will have my tracks registered. It is automatic and in LR they are placed where they were taken. Good, that is nice.
If I have not done it before it is because I am silly sometimes !

Re: Burma 2018
This is a nice series of images, some taken in challenging lighting conditions.
The inbuilt GPS data was one of the reasons I waited for the launch of the Canon 6D2. It is a really useful function and if it is not 100% accruate it is usually sufficient to jog my memory. But I don't use the GPS tracking facility which I believe recreates the path the camera has taken.
I also believe some countries do not allow GPS devices but I have not found a list of them.

Thank you for commenting David.
Today I saw that I still have some tracks on the photo from this travel.
It would be a good idea to match this data with the pictures taken. I have to Goole how to do it someday...
And today, I post just one photograph of a young girl in a restaurant

Re: Burma 2018
Very interesting captures. Did you use your new Sony camera?
When my wife and I traveled in China, we hit so many cities that I sometimes lost track of what city I was in when I was shooting indoors like in a restaurant. I thought that I did the shots in Xian but, it was actually my first night in Shanghai. This shot was of silk embroidery...

Thank you for commenting Richard !
No, all these photos were taken with Olympus 5MkII and some of their excellent lenses like the 75mm for example.
Compact, light and old lens with very good resolution. I like it very much.

One can feel the atmosphere there in these images; i had visited a similar monastery at Bylakuppe, near Mysore, a Tibetan settlement. The natural lighting in the last two images are awesome.
