    La Paz

At an altitude of 3,640 m / 11,942 ft is one of the highest major metropolitan areas in the world. The main part of the city is in a valley between the mountains and the growth of the city has literally occurred up hill. I took this shot at a 300mm focal length on a FF camera to flatten the whole area visually.

The wealthy folks live at the bottom of the valley, the middle classes just up the hill and the poorest people live in higher up the hills.

The telephoto effect really works nicely... It's a neat image although, I'd hate to live there...

Yep, the compression effect, plus the common colour of the buildings really gives a sense of crowding. Nice shot Manfred!

Interesting image. One can spend hours looking at the detail.

Great..is the uniformity in color township's decision or through public consensus?

Likely just local building materials. This entire area of Bolivia had mostly red brick buildings.

That is a really amazing photo - something to see in every area of it.
