    LensMaster Gimble RH-2

    Hi folk

Can anyone offer constructive comments on the LensMaster Gimble RH-2 please.

Over the years I've had (and sold) Wimberley gimbles and the Manfrotto 393 mounts but I'm now looking at the LensMaster RH-2 ...

IMHO the Wimberley is excellent but vastly over rated, heavy and ridiculously over priced, while the Manfrotto 393 is not refined enough (but does the job).

    Many thanks

Cannot give any feedback as a user as yet. I bought one used from another forum but had it posted to a UK address but I did research even before this one came up for sale and found not one user with a bad experience, all seemed very happy not only with there purchase but also with the makers quick and helpful replies to any questions. Russ.

I still use the Manfrotto 393. When I purchased this gimbal, many years ago, it was such a good bargain that I could not resist it, The prices increased drastically since I purchased mine...

However, I also have a Medium Small (don't remember the model number) Manfrotto fluid video head that does a very good job following moving subjects even when shooting stills...

I used both heads very frequently when my longest lens was the EF 400mm f/5.6L which had no IS. OTOH... my EF 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6L IS ii has such good stabilization that I most frequently shoot it hand-held...

    Hi Richard

Thanks very much for your reply. As I originally stated I've owned the Manfrotto 393 before and its "Basic and Solid) and I could still get one cheaply on eBay UK if I don't wait tooooo long

... but please bear in mind the thread is about the LensMaster.

My bread and butter lens is like you the Canon EF100-400mm f/4.5-5.6L IS USMii which gives great results but sometimes I just need a bit further reach so I'm starting to use my EF 500mm f/4L IS USM i

... and it's a bit heavier than the Mkii and the differences between models does not warrent the price difference.

The above was shot handheld with the Canon EOS-D + EF500mm f/4L
