I have only been there in the winter and it certainly looks different at this time of year.
I hope that the Indian government opens things up for tourism soon too. The season in Ladakh is quite short.

When we were there the Indian military blocked all internet traffic for about seven of the nine days we were there. It was around "Republic Day" and apparently there were concerns that there could be "incidents". Only one cell phone operator seemed to be work and only on monthly subscription plans.
